consider yourselves warned

So if you live in the area and happen to go hiking at a place with the initials EF (I hesitate to post TOO much info about our exact whereabouts), you need to know the following:

1. The trail is NOT stroller-friendly. I could have guessed that, but 3 miles seemed too much for Solana to walk with the incline, so Henry brought it anyway.

2. If you go on the botanical loop at all (we came down that way), know that in order to get to the beginning again, you MUST cross the creek. There is no bridge on this part of the trail. Potentially not a problem, unless you combine this with #1 and a sleeping child, in which case you get this:

Yes, Henry is crazy, but it would have been another 1+ miles to go around again.

Crazy? Well, maybe. Reckless, stupid, and life-endangering? Decidedly so.

I'm afraid my thoughts are the same... one slip and the problems start. Either a) the child is strapped in, and the stroller gets stuck on a rock or b) the child ISN'T strapped in and the child gets flung face-first into rocks.

Bad news either way.

I wish you luck in your future hikes...

wow. i'd say some people need to take a chill pill and stop judging the way other people parent. let's all watch the video again and consider just a few little points...
1. Clearly this "raging river" is going to just completely take control of this all terrain stroller. oh wait my mistake...as you can see in the video, the water doesn't even reach the middle of the tires, but actually only like three inches or so. oh my goodness, i almost forgot to mention that this is a creek and the fact that you can clearly see the father's movements from the other end tells me that it isn't that big of a creek either.
2. It looks as though the two parents have clearly assessed the situation which can be determined by the fact that the mother videotaping got across safely and i highly doubt that she would put her child at risk if she didn't know for a fact that it was not a dangerous situation.
3. If you watched the entire video (although it may not be considered the most interesting in the world), you would see that the father took his time with each and every movement and planned out the perfect step to take, especially as he looks behind him to see where to step next while he has a strong grip on the stroller.

...i must say that i am extremely disappointed to see the way in which people have chosen to react to such a simple post. do you not put yourself and your children at risk every time you enter a car and get on the road? why is this being treated as such a horrible thing when you can clearly see that these parents were being careful while in this situation? enviromama, i apologize for the comments made about your post. i can't begin to imagine the emotional damage they have caused by their inconsiderate comments as they have chosen to judge the way in which you parent. good luck with your children in the future.
